Who said we can't wear horizontal stripes?

who made that rule? I understand about bigger people not wearing OUTERWEAR horizontal stripes, but who said anything about underwear? These are my FAVORITE underwear. I call them my Christmas underwear. Do they look horrible? I think not (and under government protected law 321784973185937850364716482173.43784739743870 I am not allowed to reveal the model's identity, nor the photographer's name). so ladies, break out your stripes! Wear them with pride. Let our voices be heard, tell others that today is the day you celebrate the horizontal stripes!

It's been a busy week

Lets see where to start.
Kacey got her wisdom teeth cut out on Wednesday. She seemed to breeze right through it. I was more upset with it than she is.
Saturday was the father/son football game. It was a GREAT time. I am so glad that Scott had a nice time.
Down note, my car is still not fixed. No air. I can't leave my car up there for any longer. It was there for 2 weeks. I hope the weather co-operates.
Up note, doc is on vacation this week. I am going to enjoy it, HOWEVER, we will pay for it when he comes back.
We got to pick our last design kits. I am glad we did. I picked the decor boardz by junkitz. Painted them with magnetic paint and have started to decorate it. I can envision it in my mind, but it's not coming out like I wanted. Go figure.
I've enjoyed to cooler weather and the rain. Oh and the new grill we got. I have finally had enough of the old one. It was here when we moved in 16 years ago and we have replaced the burner, etc. Plus I had picked up another one at a yard sale for 5.00 about 2 years ago. Why does one need 3 grills? I guess I will ask if anyone of my friends want the older ones.
I need to post a picture. Can anyone tell me how to put the picture on the bottom and the text on top? I can't seem to do it right.

I am not living her summer

but I am bawling like a baby! To think it's almost over. That the people she has become a family with are going to soon part ways. She may never see any of them again. Her family, her drum corp bubble is soon to burst. Back to the harsh reality of the real world. Back to work, but yet she has worked it all summer. Waking when told, eating what they fix, fixing what she is told and loving every minute of it! Back to the harsh reality of me. I'm not the best mom. I am hard on her. Even my own mom said I was like a drill sergeant. I am SO incredibly proud of the young person she has become. I hurt for her right now, but maybe it's my pain. The thought of the airport tomorrow night or even early sunday morning is horrible! Will she get there on time? Will she find the right airline? Will her luggage weigh too much? Will she have enough money to get home? Is her phone charged so when she gets to Denver she can call me? Will she actually watch the tv on the plane or will she relish the sleep? Will she be glad to be home?
I think I am going to call her.................

1) Kacey and her group glassmen made finals. I am sitting here on my kitchen chair watching a live webcast of it. I feel sorry for the corps though. 2 Of the kids lost their dads in the last 3 days. It must be hard to be with a group of 135 people all summer and watch them grieve. One of the kids went home, the other one stayed and played on. I wonder if she will stay for finals. I am sure her dad would have wanted her to stay for finals. I would want my daughter to.



2) I am thankful for the weekend! I get to pick Kacey up at the airport on Sunday evening. I have laundry to do, as usual. But I want the laundry done when she gets home so she has to do her on. I admit it has been nice the last 3 months only doing laundry for 3.



3) I helped unpack the making memories halloween stuff today, well maybe I should say I went through the boxes, lol! I got these things above!

I got the dreaded email today

the one that says, my time on the design team is up. What if I don't want to give it up? What if I rather like the challenges that are faced to me every month? Thought I would post a few layouts I have done.
Absentee birthday is about celebrating my dd's birthday while she was away this summer. I used leftover paper, since I have made an acrylic album from the same stuff.

The this picture makes me giggle is a dt project. I was unsure what to do with this paper and then they gave me foam stamps to work with! What were they thinking? So I stamped the paper that I used for the word giggle. It's about my dd doing laundry while she was overseas last summer. Plus the way she is dressed and that if you look really closely at the picture, I printed it from home and I don't know how to use the printer and there is a seam down the middle.

Love my buttons. The bigger jar is foofala, the other one is just buttons. I also keep misc ribbon in these until I put it on the cards and put in my cabinet. I have 2 of these shelves under my birdcages. They each have 8 of the wire baskets in them. These have misc supplies in them.












This is the other half of the shelves. Also is the iris cabinet that has quickutz and misc stamps in it. The basket holds my scrap paper.

This cabinet (to the left) has these brown bins. I need to label the bins. Top left disney (but we've never been as a family). Top right Chipboard (filled to the brim). 2nd left rubons, 2nd right stickers/misc emb. 3rd right acrylic stamps 3rd left wood stamps (again full). 4th right and left mini albums. The stuff on the floor was just brought in from the crop and dumped. The ribbon is in my card catalog by color, unless of course it was bought in a group of colors and then its in a misc ribbon drawer. I have room to expand.

Ok, this view of the card catalog has embellishments in it. They are organized by theme and I have a few more drawers to expand into. the pic below is my table. Yes my fireplace is covered up, we don't use it, never have. Man it looks like a mess in here.


Other side of my table. I have been begging my dh for a real counter top for my table, but he is not wanting to do it. I have 4 iris carts with misc crap under it. Below are pics of the card catalogs I have. The top one is actually 2 pieces. A friend found one at a yard sale. I talked her down to 40 on it. got it, decided i had to have the other one she had and sent her a letter (I had the address of the yard sale just not the name) she agreed to my price (don't ask, way too much, but at that time I thought this was all I was going to get). The one under it is the one I won off of ebay.

The top one has only about 6 drawers filled with colored embellishments. The bottom ones have my stamps/inks in it. It's only half full.

Ok, pic to the left. My paper shelf. All the junk under it is going to the next lss garage sale. If you see anything you want, let me know, lol. The top is bowed. The tv that was on it, was was TOO heavy for it, so I talked dh into buying me this tv so it wouldn't bow too much. Damage is already done though

I was going to take some pics of my messy scrap room and share. I remembered I had these photos on it. Max got his braces yesterday. Over 30 months waiting to see if his jaw was going to quit growing. He has an underbite and we needed to see if he needed jaw surgery also. I think they just wanted me to continue to pay the bill. I have about 900 left on the 5700 bill (that's with a 2nd child discount). He's worth it. So much fun to take pictures of.

To start, I wanted to take a few pics today. I asked Max to go with me to the grocery store and we would stop and take a few pics before we got there. Here is one he decided to put up on his facebook. he thought the idea was stupid (I got it off 2peas). he loved it though after he looked at the picture.He has a great sense of humor.

Pajama crop was good. I am not sure why I crop out. I end up spending way too much money. I got by kind of cheap, 65.00 this time. I got one page done for me and a 2 page layout for my boss. I had done one of the twins and they wanted one of the son so they could hang it in the office also.

Scott had the laundry done when I got home last night from the crop. How great is that?
I tried and tried and tried to log on to dci.org last night so I could watch Kacey perform (just one week till she is home). finally after about an hour got logged on, paid for the show, just as glassmen took the field and the live feed quit. I have asked for my money back. I know it wasn't just me, I had been reading all the comments at drumcorpsplanet to know others were struggling also.

All packed and ready for the pajama crop, but is anyone really ready for the pajama crop? I don't normally take pictures or such to work on, but this time I am excited to work. I have one design team thing to finish. And a large order at Walmart to pick up. I talked Scott into stringing some wire around the room that once was called the den, but now I call it my scrapbook room. I plan on using large clothespins.

I decided I wanted to blog too. I really wanted a space that I could express myself. For instance, I had a wonderful text message session with my daughter today. It must have lasted about 30 minutes. She's traveling around and I just LOVED to hear her talk about how beautiful the country is. She said most of the bus was still asleep, but she was up and enjoying the countryside. In a bus with no airconditioning UGH! I didn't want to post this on my facebook. I posted about 3 weeks ago on my facebook how proud of her that I was, and one of her friends said that I was acting like this is the first time she has been gone! I think that is pure jealousy, but it really makes me want to not post that on there again. I had feelings and she shot them down, but I let her. On to a brighter note
