Julie's "useyourChristmasstashonly" challenge

I haven't made an 8x8 page. So we decided to do this size. I like the way both pages turned out. Julie did an AMAZING believe book, got us talking about Christmas paper, thus the layouts.
Used only what I had here. Considering that I didn't start till 930 and it's 1145 now, I wouldn't have had time to go anywhere and get anything.
I hope we do this as a weekly challenge. Should get my creative mojo flowing!

Here's a quick gift

So, this is so super easy. I had this spark hit me while walking through Michael's the other day (cyndi I got you something from there). An ordinary cookie cutter, about 88 cents. Everything else I had. Use the cropadile to cut the holes. Add some ribbon to hang it. I used a brad to connect the 2 ends of the ribbon. I punched a circle out of shrinky dink material, I think you can use just about anything. I wrote the last name on one side and the year on the other, then shrunk it. I debated wether or not to shrink the family names or what, then decided to use my cricut to cut the tags, I think that chipboard shapes would be good also. I wrote their names on each one, little pen work and decided to hang them with wire. I also added some beads that I have in a jar here and curled the ends of the wire to keep it from coming out the holes. Added some bling to the sides and VIOLA~! A Christmas ornament. I think the possibilites are endless here. You could hang pictures, use different shape cookie cutters, etc. Leave me a comment, critique and ideas! I would love to hear what you think.

So many things to blog about

Bringing it home baby! It's been 103 years. Fayetteville has NEVER won a state championship. Until now. It's been 25 years since Scott won his (different school). Now it was Max's turn. Amazing. I knew Scott has struggled all these years with the kids being "purple dogs" (he was a red dog,BIG rival schools), but his blood ran purple today. More on that later.

Here's the happy family after the game. Now remember, it was about 40 degrees. I have on a long sleeve t shirt, a short sleeve tshirt, a flannel zip up and then my bulldog sweatshirt. A pair of jeans and then a pair of wind pants that Scott found in the back of his car. The long johns he bought me didn't fit. Couldn't get them over my calves. No actuall, I couldn't even get my foot into the legs, lol! He did make the comment that I looked like a rabbit. Guess I need to work on my smile.

So now back to the father son championship. We went out to where the busses were and waited. Here comes Max. Scott hollered, Max ran, jumped up on his dad and started to tear up. He said there were 2 times today when he felt like that. That was one of them. The other one makes me want to cry. He said that after the game, Charlie, one of the senior boys took his gloves off and gave them to Max, told him to wear them next year and good luck. How cool is that?

Then there's Sadie. I know Max had been to lunch with her last week and texting her like crazy! She came to the game today! Sweet, sweet girl. I asked her if her family came, she said she told her mom that she could go shopping if she would just bring her to the game, and she did. Dropped her off so she could come and watch the game. I told her that I had heard alot about her, that Max had talked about her. She said she had been talking about Max at her house also. She is adorable. She went to play football last weekend, plays softball, etc. Time will tell huh?

Got to say, I love my cricut! But I love my camera more. We were asked to make signs for the bulldog field house. I made 3. Then we lined the road with people and posters when the boys left that morning. This is the one I made. One mom didn't look close enough to it and thought it said Behave. How funny is that? Scott took the poster into the stadium with us and would wave it. So when we left I had Max hold it one more time. I should have made a "d" to go on the end. Believed. They believed they could do it, and did it. What an amazing weekend.

Hotel room 99.00 (nice one too, gave us ear plugs, eye mask, soothing cd to sleep to, plenty of pillows on each bed, umm did you think I wanted to be that close to the grand champion snorer?)

uggh kids!

Max just called. He's been with K-life all day at a football tournament of sorts about 2.5 hours away. He's back in fayetteville. He can't find his wallet. Great. I call to cancel his bank card. last charge they have on the account is 4.20 at the sonic in the town he was in. That's his charge. He actually remembers having his wallet there. I think it's a good sign if that's the last charge they have on file. He thinks maybe it's in someone's bag that was in the car with him. He just can't find the phone number for that kid. No cash in the wallet. That's a relief. His license was. Just looked that up. No biggie. Need to take his birth certificate and we can apply for a new one. 10 bucks. He said he had gift cards in his wallet. Who knows how much, etc. He also had his student id. I don't know about that though. Scott just went to follow him home, just in case he gets pulled over. We will just take him back and forth to work tomorrow and Monday we will go get his new license, that is if I can find his birth certificate.
I guess it could be worse, someone could have used his debit card.
shhessh.

The fog was so thick!

This is Friday night at the ball game in Bryant. Great game. We won. Now for round 2 this week. Local team. tough team. Hope we win and we can go to state! Time will tell.
that sucked. I had a whole paragraph typed and lost it. Here goes. I will try again.
I am watching dancing with the stars and Marie Osmond just danced. I am not her biggest fan, I like Mel B better, Liked Sabrina better than that, but I didn't vote so I have no right to bitch. She was talking of her dad who died last week. It got me thinking of my dad and the special relationship we have. I don't know if he knows that he is my hero. That when I think of the moon being hung, I think of him. He has been my biggest cheerleader (not that my mom isn't but ladies, you know that special relationship you have with your dad, right?). I know we don't live forever. In fact, I had this talk with my grandma last night and her wishes when she dies. Tough talk but at least I know. Just like I hope my dad knows how I feel!

To say I am pissed is an understatement

Dear darling kacey sent me a text about 15 minutes ago that her car got towed. Imagine that. Over at Jason's to watch a movie and she get's towed. But it's ok she says, she found the car. She can go pick it up before 11. To the tune of 90! What college kid has a spare 90 laying around? She doesn't. It would ust let it sit, but it's our car. So when she racks up the money from it sitting in the impound yard, then who has to bail it out then? I think when she gets the car she just needs to come home. Or put it this way, our car needs to come home. She can do whatever she wants, but the car comes home.
Scott is going to go with her when she gets it. She's waiting for her friend Grayson to bring her the 90 to pick it up. She couldn't transfer money from her savings since the bank is closed. Good thing she called the bank today to see how much she has in her savings account.
So needless to say I am pissed.

so I'm Uber excited!

Kacey's friend Morganne came to visit this weekend. They asked me to go with them this afternoon and take a few pics. I guess if you can say 75 is a few, lol. Here is the one with the girls with their picture from Paris last summer. The photo won a contest and was made into a poster. kacey hadn't seen it and since Morganne was in town we went to get it, only I didn't have a memory card for my camera so we had to bring it home (it's not mine yet).

Here they are jumping before she left

And here they are up off the square. It was fun to wait for no traffic to have them do this

When I can figure this out more, I will post more of the shoot I did with them. I found a few great places to take photos.
Can't wait to share.
