this bites

We lost power on tuesday. Thought we were going to squeak by. Good thing we bought a generator. I currently have a lamp on my scrap table and have been scrapbooking. We have the satellite hooked up. No fridge and no laundry. Oh and no pool. Tree down, smashed pool. I bet it will be at least another week till we are up and running. Forgive the typos, typing on the phone isn't much fun. I will keep updating if anything happens.

Playing along too!

I have been tagged my mamichelle (shellsq.blogspot.com). Check her out! Some amazing cards. AND she has time to post something EVERY DAY! unlike her lose friend me.

1. Link to the person who tagged you (as I did above).
2. Mention the rules.
3. Tell 6 things about yourself.
4. Tag 6 other bloggers by linking to them.
5. Go to each person's blog and leave them a comment to let them know they've been tagged.

So... 6 things about me:

1- I am uber anal. I have to clean my scrap area between layouts. I have to leave my work space in the same way every day. Get the drift?
2- I am the proud mom of 2 amazing kids. I never would have imagined how great my kids would be considering I think I was a hellion.

3- I am a homebody. A long time ago, in a galaxy far far away, I once asked my friend Christie, why she didn't want to leave her home on the weekends. Now I know. I would rather be home than running all over. Don't get me wrong. I do like to be able to hit the scrapbook stores on the weekends. But as far as planning a trip, give me the house. Maybe it will be different when the kids don't have me running all over, but right now, I like to be home. (by choice, not by weather, lol)

4- I am addicted to reality tv. I can plan my whole week around whats on and when. Please don't interrupt my shows.

5- I was a band geek in high school. I was the score keeper in boys basketball in junior high, just so Maria and I could travel with the boys team. More than the cheerleaders could. I graduated a semester early in high school and lost out on so much. I didn't get to go in the 5th grade to band night to pick out my instrument. So I got the saxophone. Which I still have, and can tell you where it is. Unlike my wedding rings. I started playing sax and then went to baritone horn in high school.

6- I can't quit ordering magazines. Did you know that if you wait long enough, they send you this phenomonal deal? I just paid like 6 scripts that I get. I have to have my people magazine though. It is my way of knowing that the week is over. If it doesn't come till Saturday, then I am screwed.

so let's tag

1. Kristen
2. Cyndi
3. Janna
4. Jen

Sorry, I only have 4 that might not get upset.

what happened AFTER the wedding....

I am cutting and posting this from facebook, so if you read it there, sorry.

what a beautiful day it was. Getting to spend some time with Kacey. Little did I know how much time, lol. We headed out to Jeremy's wedding. It was very nice. It was bittersweet. After 2 years, I got to tell someone I'm sorry. I'm sorry for the loss of your son. It was so nice to be able to do that. To be able to reflect with him about his son. To shed a tear, connect. (actually Kacey wasn't with me at this time, so I guess I had a break). We decided not to go to the reception, since it was in Elkins and we were in Bella Vista. I wasn't going to go that far and not go to the lss. SO off we went. Nice shopping experience. We leave. I am about 3 steps ahead of her. I step off the curb to the car and I see her go head over off the curb. By the time I got my stuff thrown in the car and to her, she was BAWLING! It was nice that someone else saw her and he offered to help her up, but we thought we would be ok. I just wanted to get her off the ground. I don't know if she caught her heel in the pavement, on her pants or just fell. By the time she got in the car, her foot was bleeding quite profusely. I went back in and got her a bag of ice, some tylenol (thanks Melissa) and some paper towels. Her ankle was quite swollen by this time. Her elbow skinned up and she has 2 "scrapes" in her foot. The shoe is ruined, she actually ripped it! We get in the car, she's crying. I say, let's run to the office and I will clean it up, since we were close. Got there, she took a few steps and started crying harder, it hurt. get her in the back, prop it up, clean it off. It's still bleeding. Even more swollen. I wrap it. And her elbow. I tell her we are going to the hospital (so much for the extra money in our checking account right now), lol. She's crying more. It hurts. If it's broke how long does she need to be held up, can she still march this summer, can she still run, will she have to do physical therapy? All questions I can't answer. Get to the ER, her with no shoes, no socks, etc. Wait. The obligatory hour. Luckily in that time, I had asked Shelby to bring Kacey some socks. Max bought them, Shelby picked them up and delivered them to us, just as we were called back. Triage, then a room. They told her to sit in the wheelchair (as opposed to the gurney) since she would go to xray shortly. Wait the obligatory hour for xray. She hadn't wanted to look at her ankle the entire time, but it was up on a pillow on a chair, unwrapped, but the gauze on the cut kept slipping. She looked at it! I look at her and she is pale as all get out. Kacey, are you ok? Yea, I think I'm just hungry. Kacey are you getting warm. yea. Kacey do you feel sick? Maybe just a little bit, but I think I'm hungry. I go put cold towels on her forehead and neck. She later tells me that she looked at it , that's when she felt ill. So off to xray. We did get caught up on Brett Michael's rock of love show. Who knew the tramps that are out there! She's back, now gets to lay on the gurney. Doctor finally comes in. No break, just sprain. See ortho in a few days. Leave splint on till then. Don't get it wet. Antibiotics since her foot was STILL bleeding and she had a few open scrapes. Nurse comes in, wipes off blood that is on her foot, her wound was never cleaned out. dressing applied. splint applied and allowed to harden. crutches brought in. Nurse comes in and shows her how to use them. We are free to leave. Did I tell you that Max came to join us in all this fun? Yea, to the tune of him almost getting thrown out. He decided to humor us while we were waiting and get in the wheelchair and go up and down the hall, popping wheelies in it. Kacey was laughing. I tried not to. I went and pulled him by the ear to get him to come in the room. he pulled away and I grabbed his collar. I think that's when he started gasping and saying "Help". Our not so friendly nurse (not Stephanie, she was nice), said you have to stay in the room. If you don't you will be asked to go to the lobby. We have sick patients back here. REALLY? Sick patients? hmmmmmmm. Novel thought. And like that we were ok to leave. She got on her crutches and rode away. Not really, but that sounded good huh? We got in the car, headed to sonic for a drink and a snack, since it's now 500. Then to walmart to drop off rx. Head to the drive through at walmart and guess what? There are 2 carts there to warn you that the drive through is closed. How am I supposed to get out of this one way place? Easy back into the things that stick up and turn yourself around, cause that's what it's all about. Wait, that's the hokey pokey. Come home cause we can go out later to get them. Scott had the couch all ready for her.
While I had the camera in the car, she insisted that I didn't take any pics. These were with my phone.

WARNING THE FOLLOWING IMAGE IS BLOODY, GET OUT NOW WHILE THE GETTING IS GOOD IF YOU ARE SQUEAMISH

Notice how big her ankle is!

I am going to

load a few posts.
Let's start with this one.
Yesterday Kacey and I went to a wedding of a classmate of hers from high school. It was a very simple, wonderful wedding. Kacey and Jeremy were in band together in school. Jeremy, his best friend Scott, Kacey and I don't remember who else, went to the Fiesta bowl when I chaperoned (school trip). Scott is absolutley hysterical. Or I guess I should say was. He died about 2 years ago. I worked with his dad. Scott and Jeremy were inseperable. Best friends. Brothers. I know Jeremy was crushed when Scotty died. As were we all. Yesterday at the wedding, I saw Scott's dad. I touched him, we locked arms and walked, and cried, and talked. I never did tell Chip, how sorry I was. I did yesterday. I am glad I got that chance to tell him. I have his address now so I can send him the rest of the pictures I have.
Back to the wedding. Very nice. Tomorrow's post will say a few things about it also.

I am hooked. I admit it

I love diet coke. Growing up we drank Pepsi (egads). I loved to go to my Aunt Judy's to get a drink of Coke. Sweet Coke. Lovely Coke. I will even pick where we go to eat by what they have to drink. I will discourage going to a place if they have Pepsi. How appropriate that I married a Coke buy. A certified, bonafide Coke guy. We have a Coke machine in the house. I ask who has soda on sale. No we don't get soda free, or even at a discount. But you bet your sweet bippy that when soda is on sale, I am loading up. Here is the stash I have. I have 2.5 bags of cans off the back porch. Not the small bags, but the industrial size, leaf bags, like 35 gallon. I prefer my soda from Sonic. Although just about any styrofoam cup will do (I know that they are bad for the environment, I know that). I can't help it. I love diet coke. And my Coke man.

I give you permission to

rip your magazines apart! I just went through these and tore out...............NOTHING! Well except my name on the front. Now to just get rid of them. Most would be good for a beginner scrapper. What a great feeling. As soon as I get it off my floor.

Ok, Michelle, since you asked about my ribbon, here you go. I haven't got all my ribbon that I won, but will very soon, lol. Here is my ribbon tree.
I walked by it at Hobby lobby and thought it would be good for something. Scott painted it and here you go. If I need ribbon I go here first. It's not as overwhelming as the next photo. They have a really cool Eiffel tower now that would be cool also to hang ribbon from.

Here is the view of my 12 drawers devoted to ribbon in my card catalog.

The drawers under the ribbon holder house my acrylic stamps.

So, what do you want to see next?

(terri, I know you are out there, at least I think you are. I'm ready let's INSPIRE!)

Here's what I have been doing

It seems like I have a fog around me lately and I don't want to function as a normal human being. I hope the fog lifts and my life as I know will go on. I had a nice lunch yesterday with the kids and then layed around. I decided to move my paper from one cabinet to another (see previous post with a tour around my room). The shelves I put the paper in will hold what I have almost to the sheet. I do have a wire basket on the top of the shelf that holds the paper that I am too lazy to file. Let alone, I have to reorganize the paper too. It didn't transfer the way I wanted. I guess this means that I can purge paper.

I took Kacey to the airport today. She is in Chicago kickin it with Dave and J Fran. Max is at work. Grocery shopping is done. Menu is planned out. Fridge cleaned out. What else?

Happy New Year!

sorry. I've been a very, very bad blogger. SO if you are reading this, and I told you that the new year would challenge us, then EMAIL ME! I can't find your email, I know it's there somewhere. I am ready to get this party started.
I'm on the laptop that I can't get pictures loaded with, so maybe tomorrow night.
Anywho. What's your word for 2009?
Mine will be FOCUS. Help me ob e one, you're my only hope, lol!
I just changed this cause Michelle was tired of looking at my towels. How funny. That's not really the reason, it just sounded funny.
I hope to be back tomorrow. I plan on having lunch with the kids after work. I may leave at noon tomorrow.
Kacey went to Dallas. Went to the armed forces bowl and partied with a friend. She's home now, and I bet exhasuted. Max went to kaitlyn's and hung out with Shelby. I on the other hand was asleep by 11 and up at 1145 to kiss Scott, then go pick Max up.
Ok, off here really, I am
till later!
